moldable, flexible, pliable

Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
(Isaiah 64:8)

How tender are you?
How flexible is your heart when it comes to obeying and trusting the Creator?
Are you adaptable, adjustable, humble?
Or is your heart hard and crusty like a block of dried out clay?

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never known a Potter to make anything useful from earth that has not been worked and softened first. No, when a Potter creates, He spends a great deal of time kneading His clay, submersing His clay in water, and continually pounding His clay into submission. This deliberate process is necessary for clay to become pliable and practical. In fact, this is the only way a Potter will take an old, dusty lump and sculpt it into a beautiful, functional vessel. Yes, once the clay has become supple in His hands, the possibilities to create a treasured, one-of-kind masterpiece becomes a reality to the Potter.

Perhaps from there, the Potter will form His clay into a useful pitcher so that He may pour out His refreshing wine to those who come to His house thirsty?  Or perhaps He will manipulate His clay into a special serving platter intended to distribute nourishing fruit to feed those He knows are hungry? Best of all, perhaps the Potter will form His clay into a beautiful, clean vase. A vase always open and ready to display His hand-picked bouquet of fragrant, fresh flowers taken directly from the best of His garden!  Oh how wonderful to be the blessed, cherished, and favored container of the Potter! (Hallelujah, Precious Father!  Please make me your chosen vessel!)

Indeed, the Potter is able to use supple clay for so many useful, needed purposes! For this very reason, it is so important for each of us to remain moldable, flexible, and pliable in order to allow our Potter’s guiding hands to influence and maneuver us successfully through every oppression and hardship. We must humble our wills in order to allow for every inner hardness to be softened by His firm but loving touch. Only then, will He transform us into meaningful vessels of purpose and usefulness.  Only then, will He guide us through His proven process of new life - turning us into solid, lasting figures that showcase His artistic resemblance and display His perfect design of holiness!

So, how tender are you?
How flexible is your heart when it comes to obeying and trusting your Creator?
Have you submitted your ways to the Lord?
Have you opened yourself to becoming supple?
Or are you still defiantly dusty, crusty, and cracking throughout with the dryness of sin and death?

Friends, it is time to be made into your Creator’s intended creation!  So, do not be hardened any longer!  Today is the day to become His clay... to become the blessing your Almighty Father always intended for you to be!

I encourage you to become pliable to God’s perfect Way.
Through His grace, your dirt can indeed be washed clean and made new in Jesus!
So, be moldable and useful.
Be flexible and cherished.
Become His most valued work today!!!
